Become an Ambassador
Become an 1887 Strikes Ambassador! This is an incredible opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact at FAMU for its Sixth Annual 1887 Strikes Day of Giving Campaign. As an ambassador, you have the power to inspire others to give back, raise awareness about important causes, and help raise much-needed funds for FAMU. By becoming an ambassador, you are taking an active role in contributing to the success of current and future Rattlers. Ambassadors will help promote 1887Strikes.com by sharing official graphics, their favorite FAMU memories and encouraging their friends, families, and co-workers to represent FAMU by using the hashtag #1887strikes on April 16 and 17.
How to make an impact
- Sign up to be an ambassador.
- Click on the dropdown above and Choose Your Cause.
- Make sure you join a “team” as well.
- Make a gift to an area on campus that you are passionate about, beginning at 9 am EST on April 16, 2026 until 4:27 pm EST on April 17, 2026.
- Share branded “1887 Strikes” content on your personal social media accounts and your custom “1887 Strikes” URL.
- Encourage your friends to do the same while making a gift to their favorite area on campus, too!

Sunrise Surge Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the college, school or department with the largest single gift raised.
Midday Momentum Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the college, school or department with the most gifts.
Rise & Rally Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the college, school or department with the most gifts.
Big Gift Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the college, school or department with the largest single gift.
Climb the Hill Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the college, school or department with the most donors.
Game Day Giving Bonus #1
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the sports team with the highest number of gifts.
Game Day Giving Bonus #2
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the sports team with the highest number of gifts.
Excellence in Giving Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the affinity group with the highest dollar amount raised during the full 1,887-minute campaign.
Rattler Pride Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the affinity group with the highest number of gifts during the full 1,887-minute campaign.
Impact in Action Bonus
A $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the college, school or department with the highest total social media engagement on its impact video during the campaign.
Multiply your impact with ease
University employees may contribute through payroll deduction. Many companies also offer matching gift programs and payroll deductions for charitable giving.
If you donate online and your employer offers a matching gift, simply submit proof of your contribution to have your gift matched.

All ambassadors will receive a digital toolkit, text to give code and a custom giving link to post on social media. -Top Ambassadors will receive an exclusive swag bag. Sample posts, downloadable graphics and talking points are all available in the social media ambassador toolkit for day-of use.
FAMU’s “1887 Strikes” Day of Giving is an annual fundraising campaign that allows alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and families, and friends to come together to support FAMU for 1,887 minutes.
Everything! Gifts can be directed to a college/school, department, research initiative, campus activity or FAMU program that means the most to the donor, or it can be applied to an area of greatest need. What matters most is that every Rattler gives and becomes part of the “great things happening every day” at FAMU and to our Rattlers around the world.
*The minimum gift to be counted for FAMU Day of giving is $1.
One hundred percent of your gift goes directly where you choose for it to go: your college, school, or department; your favorite program; to a scholarship; Athletics or to FAMU NAA—whatever matters most to you.
